Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Handled. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Handled.

1. About Handled

Handled ("we," "us," or "our") is a personal virtual assistant service that connects users ("clients") with a dedicated assistant to complete tasks including scheduling, research, writing, travel bookings, and event planning. Tasks are submitted via the Handled app or website and completed within a standard 24–48 hour turnaround or an urgent 4–8 hour turnaround.

These Terms of Service govern your use of our website at heyhandled.com, our mobile application, and all related services (collectively, the "Services").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Handled. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Your Account

To use Handled, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

You may register using your email address, Apple ID, or Google account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Services & Task Submission

How it works

Clients submit tasks through the Handled app or website. Upon submission, you select a turnaround tier:

Your assistant will review the task and begin work. You may communicate with your assistant via the in-app messaging system throughout the process.

Task scope

Handled provides virtual personal assistance services only. We do not provide professional legal, financial, medical, or therapeutic advice. Tasks involving illegal activities, harassment, or harmful content will be declined.

Task completion

We make reasonable efforts to complete tasks within the selected turnaround time. However, turnaround times are estimates and not guarantees. Factors outside our control (third-party delays, incomplete information provided by the client, etc.) may affect completion time.

5. Payments & Pricing

Task pricing

Task prices are displayed at the time of submission and depend on the complexity and turnaround tier selected. Prices start from $8 for simple tasks.

Platform fee

A platform fee of $7 applies per task for Free plan users. This fee is waived for Handled Pro subscribers.

Pre-authorization

Upon task submission, your payment method will be pre-authorized for the task amount. Your card will only be charged when your task is marked as complete. If a task cannot be completed, you will not be charged.

Urgent fee

Urgent tasks include an additional fee of $15–$25 on top of the base task price. This fee applies even if the assistant is out of office and you choose to proceed with an urgent request.

Refunds

Because we only charge upon task completion, refunds are generally not offered for completed tasks. If you believe a task was not completed as described, please contact us at pildercg@icloud.com within 48 hours of completion. We will review disputes on a case-by-case basis.

6. Handled Pro Subscription

Handled Pro is a subscription plan that waives the platform fee on all tasks and provides priority response times.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain Pro access until then.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.

7. The Client Vault

Handled offers a secure Vault feature where clients can store personal information (travel details, payment cards, family members, insurance, notes, etc.) to assist with task completion. By storing information in your Vault, you consent to your assistant accessing this information solely for the purpose of completing your tasks.

You may delete your Vault information at any time from your account settings. For full details on how we handle your data, please review our Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Handled to:

We reserve the right to decline any task at our discretion and to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, design, and technology associated with Handled — including but not limited to the logo, app design, and written content — is the property of Handled and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Work product delivered to you as the result of a completed task is yours to use freely. We retain no claim over deliverables created specifically for you.

10. Third-Party Services

Handled uses third-party services to operate, including:

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those websites.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Handled is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

We do not guarantee specific outcomes from tasks. Results may vary depending on the nature of the task and information provided.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Handled's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific task giving rise to the claim in the six (6) months prior to the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

13. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with Handled, please contact us first at pildercg@icloud.com. We will attempt to resolve any dispute informally within 30 days.

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in New York, NY, in accordance with applicable arbitration rules. You waive any right to a jury trial or class action proceeding.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including payment obligations, intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and dispute resolution.
